A section in the configuration file that contains a list of corresponding ASCII character codes for use in sorting and equality testing. Each line in the table begins with the word COLLATE and lists two ASCII character codes. R:BASE considers the first ASCII character code to be equivalent to the second in sorting sequence. The collating table includes characters whose codes would make the sorting sequence inaccurate (for example A and a).
