To view the table data as a row, click the "View as Row" tab to switch modes. In the View as Row mode, the Up and Down arrow keys will move the focus respectively. The Left and Right arrow keys will have no effect.
To edit a column value while in the Edit mode, either double-click the field or press the "Enter" key. Once editing of the value is complete, press the "Enter" key again to commit the changes.
The "Column Descriptions in Row View" menu option, under Layout, is available to display the column comments from the table definition (when present) to the right of the data.
